Haley Ashby, LCSW

(she/her)

I believe that people don’t go to therapy to feel good; rather, they go to therapy to get good at feeling. Trauma, abuse, prejudice, shame, and mental illness can all lead to difficulties with experiencing emotions and being accepting of ourselves. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space to help people navigate, identify, and explore feelings and behaviors.

My specialties include working with women and members of the LGBTQ+ community. I am conscious of all my clients’ social identities and the impact of oppression and trauma. I have experience helping clients navigate feelings related to anxiety, depression, postpartum mental health, grief and loss, trauma, personality disorders, shame, and self-injurious behaviors. In addition to healthy processing, I help clients learn mindfulness, coping skills, and other skills such as assertiveness and boundaries. Talking to a therapist can be daunting for some, and I am determined to make the experience one that is safe and validating.
